Candlelight Day 2009

Each year the Hospice and Rehabilitation Centre in Alexandra hosts a candlelight day. Family members of the loved ones that have passed on at the hospice are invited to attend this event where we remember those that have passed on that year.

Motivational speakers, other organisations that offer health services, church members and their pastors from a couple of churches are also invited. Before the observing of the moment of silence, a huge candlelight is lit and everybody lights a small candle that is given to them from the larger main candle. We form a chain with our hands and pray. It is very emotional, when everybody remembers all their families that have passed on and receives encouragement from each other, that you are not alone.
